Welcome to my BRAND NEW page.  After lots of requests, it's finally here.  All of my favorite designs will show up here.  Hope you see lots of pretties that you need in your closet.

Bethany Alexa designs are mine, but I get my inspirations from lots of people and things.  I hope to have a sense of wearable whimsy in everything I make.  To construct my dresses and other garments, I sometimes use and alter commercial patterns (from Butterick, Simplicity, Burta, McCall's, etc.), sometimes I free hand the whole garment, and sometimes I reconstruct an old ugly something into a new pretty something.

My favorite designers are Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, Erin Fetherston, and Betsey Johnson.  I like the pretty parisan details of Erin Fetherston's things and the quirkiness of Miss Betsey Johnson's, and there is not one single thing that I don't love about Rodarte.

I'm learning about costume design and drawing inspiration from literature, film, and television.  Look around, get inspired by floaty dresses and funky scarves and the whimsy that bounces from mind wall to mind wall inside my head all day.
